More copying & Filing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Hola Gente!!!!!
Ok so again. Today i didn't do much all i did was make MORE copies and filed MORE files away.It was like really boring so i took a break and sat in the kitchen and read my boook and nowwwwwww instead of working i'm doing my H.W. and chating with my friends on myspace.lolzSo tomorrow i hope i do more things because my mentor JJ will be back in the offfice soooooooooooooo i'll kieep my fingers cross(not). So l8r peeps. Till manana.

Hola Gente!!!!!!!!!!
Ok.So yesterday i didn't do much. I just filed some things away and made some copies. It was kind of boring because filing these files away is quite annoying. I mean you have to make sure that it's in the right numerical order and there's like three differtn numbers which shows the district number , the year and the number of the case. Believe me when i say that it's annoying and complicating becasue sometimes you get the numbers confused. Anyways that's all i did yesterday and me hope you likers me blog!!!!!!lolz L8r people.

NEW VOCAB!!!!!!!

Ok. So these are the new woerds i learned:

NO INTERNSHIP!!!!

Well i don't have to go to my internship site this week. (thank god for that). So i am going to everyday reading my crazy romance novels and trying to keep track of all the books that i've read. I miss intrnship though . I can imaging almost everything i could of had been doing if i had gone today. Oh well. At least i get o catch up on my sleep.lolz

I didn't do much yesterday. I was in my mentor's opffice and we working on this case together and i had to write an analysis for the cpo and thr R's attorney. And it was kind of fun because the case is very interesting it's actually a sexual harrasment case were the cp is being treated really bad by one of the head memebers of the company and she was in way retaliated aghainst.

How has the internship been the same as and/or different than your expectations?
My internship have met up to my expectation. I have been able to work on cases with my mentors and it has been great!!!. I lovers it a lot.

What is similar and different about the culture of the school environment versus the workplace environment? What new skills have you learned that apply to the workplace?
Well to be honest the culture of the school environment is not that different from school. Luckily , my internship is very diverse so the atmosphere is the same. I have learned how to analysis, new vocabulary words and i improved my clerical skills.

What kind of relationship do you have with your mentor and co-workers? How have you grown as a result of interacting with professional adults?

I have a great relationship with my mentor and coworkers. We get along pretty well. I got more mature and my vocabulary is more improved because i use differnt words. I don't speak in slang i speak proper english.



What challenges at the internship have you faced that you have overcome and how did you overcome them?

I didn't have any challenges. Everything was good.



What challenges have you faced in school as a result of the altered schedule and how are you handling them?



What goals are you working to accomplish during the remainder of the internship?

Nope. Nothing at all.

What new things have you learned about New York City?

It has a great sights. It's crowded. Fodd TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO expensive. That there are a lot of federal laws that employer have to comply with more then 15 emplees.

The End of the First Week of Internships

What is it?

My internship is with the Equal Employment Opportunities (EEOC). It's an agency that helps people who's been discriminated against in their job because of their Age, Sex, Religion,National Origin, Race , Color or disability.

What kind of business is it and what kind of work do the professionals do there?

They are all investigators . When a case get sent in the Suprvisor assign it to one of them and they start to work on it. Once they decide if we cover the case they send a letter to the person that filed the complaint telling them how things are gonna work .

Where is it?

It's in 33Whitehall street.

Tell a little about your mentor.

My mentors name is Patricia Aurajo and she is from Barcelona , Spain and she is really easy going. She's been working with the EEOC for 20 years. possibly more and she is really fun. She's always walking around and i rarley see her .So i have a lot of other mentors that teach me ther rope beside her.

What happened on the first day?

On the first day they showed me areound and explained the terms they used there to me.

What kinds of things have you done so far?

So far i have worked on some intake forms and i have made a lot of copies and a lot of filing.

What were some of the highlights of the first week? (Memorable moments, cool things...)

I remember they sent t make a copy and then i went to the fax machine thinking that it was the printer because it looked just like one and i sent a fax instead of making the copies!!! That was just one of my crazy incidents.

At 11:35

How long does it take you to get to your internship?

It takes me 20 to 30 minutes. Depending on how fast the train comes.

When do you get home?
I get home at 60 to 6:30 everyday depending on how th subway's functioning.

What is your schedule? (What days do you work and for how long each day?)

I work from Mondays to Wednesdays

from 1 tp 5

I take Thursdays off to catch up on school work

SO TIRING!!!

Today was a very tiring day for me. Yesterday i couldn't go to internship because of a family emergency so today , i had a lot of work to catch up on.I had to do a lot of filing and i had to make a lot of new folders for new charges. The part that was most frustrating was calling people who haven't sent in their position statement.
